This past February, Guardian Pharmacy of Atlanta attended the annual Guardian Pharmacy Management Meeting (PMM) in Nashville, Tennessee. This annual meeting brings all 26 Guardian locations together from across the country. This is a great time of year to “recharge our batteries” and have a little fun while networking and sharing best practices with our sister pharmacies.
The main focus of this annual meeting:
- Review and celebrate the results of the previous year
- Look at a preview of the upcoming year
- Discuss industry and market trends
- Share best practices
- Get to know our sister pharmacies to better build internal relationships and communication
Throughout the PMM, Guardian teammates listened to a number of guest speakers and presentations from internal Guardian employees. This year topics ranged from the current economy and political impacts on our industry to pharmacy-specific topics, such as software and automation products.
One event during the PMM is the annual awards dinner, in which pharmacies receive recognition for making and exceeding their business plans for the previous year. Guardian Pharmacy of Atlanta received five of the eight awards given this year – more than all previous years combined!
One of the awards received was about patient growth, which is given to a pharmacy that has added 400 or more new residents per year. We also received the gross margin award by achieving a goal that we didn’t just meet – we exceeded! The award we are most proud of, however, is our Pharmacy Excellence award. This award goes to a pharmacy that not only met (or exceeded) their business plan, but displayed leadership, innovation and quality care for customers and employees with exemplary business practices.
2015 was a great year for Guardian Pharmacy of Atlanta. We recently completed three local pharmacy acquisitions, which involved relocating four locations into one while retaining the local staff and maintaining excellent services to our communities and their residents.
